Our assessment

Research profile

RobotTools has not hands-on tested Mixo. This research profile was compiled from Mixo’s current product pages, help centre, pricing page, privacy policy and terms on 11 August 2026.

Mixo is a browser-based AI website builder aimed at sole traders, local service firms and small businesses that need a credible online presence quickly. A short business description, goal and language prompt produces a hosted site with initial pages, copy and design; users then refine the result in a visual editor and publish to a Mixo subdomain or, on a paid plan, a custom domain. Its strongest case is speed and simplicity rather than open-ended design control. Mixo combines website hosting, SSL, forms, lead management, SEO fields, AI-assisted articles and tracking integrations in one service. It is better suited to brochure and lead-generation websites than complex ecommerce, membership sites or custom web applications.

Mixo suits non-technical sole traders, local service businesses and early-stage founders who need a professional brochure or lead-generation website quickly. It is most useful when speed, hosting and simple editing matter more than fine-grained design control or a large app ecosystem.

Who it suits

Sole traders and local service businesses

Generates a hosted, mobile-ready site quickly and includes forms, basic SEO controls and lead management.

Founders validating a business idea

The free plan can publish a real one-page site on a Mixo subdomain without requiring a card.

Non-technical website owners

The editor focuses on changing copy, images, colours, sections and calls to action without code.

Small teams building a content-led presence

Paid plans add multi-page sites, custom domains, analytics and AI-assisted blog, guide, portfolio or project content.

It may not suit you if

Design-led brands needing pixel-level control

Mixo prioritises fast generation and a guided editor rather than the deep layout and interaction control of advanced visual builders.

Complex ecommerce, membership sites or web apps

Payments are handled through external links and scripts; Mixo is primarily a marketing-site and lead-generation platform.

Teams requiring a fully self-hosted editing workflow

The editor and AI remain cloud-based. Source export is a separate paid process and exported sites cannot be imported back into Mixo.

Businesses requiring a documented API, SSO or enterprise security controls

Current public Mixo material does not confirm a public API, SSO or a detailed enterprise security programme.

Data, rights and business controls

Mixo’s privacy policy says personal information is processed and stored in Australia and may be shared with contracted service providers for functions such as hosting, billing, customer management, database storage and marketing. Subscriber submissions are stored in the Mixo dashboard and can be exported to CSV.The terms say users retain rights in uploaded content, while also granting Mixo a broad, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable and sublicensable licence to use that content. The current public policy does not state whether prompts, generated sites or customer content are used for AI-model training, so that point remains unconfirmed.

Points to check before subscribing

Strengths

Very fast route to a usable website

A concise business brief produces a complete starting point, reducing the setup work required from a non-technical owner.

A genuinely usable free plan

The free tier includes generation, editing, hosting, SSL and publication on a Mixo-branded subdomain.

Lead generation is built into the core workflow

Forms, subscriber storage and CSV export make it possible to collect enquiries without assembling a separate basic stack.

Guided editing keeps the learning curve low

The product deliberately limits complexity, which helps owners who do not want to learn a professional design tool.

Hosting, domains, content and tracking are coordinated

Paid plans bring the common small-business website tasks into one dashboard rather than requiring separate hosting and deployment.

Limitations

Limited design and structural depth

The guided editor is built for quick, conventional business sites rather than bespoke layouts, complex interactions or extensive component systems.
What to check: Use an advanced visual builder or custom WordPress build when brand differentiation and precise layout control are central.

The free plan is deliberately constrained

Free sites are limited to one page, use a Mixo subdomain and retain Mixo branding. Custom domains, more pages and advanced tracking require payment.
What to check: Validate the offer on Free, then compare the paid plan against other hosted builders before connecting a long-term domain.

No native full ecommerce system

Mixo’s own payment guidance uses external PayPal, Stripe or Gumroad links rather than a built-in catalogue, basket and checkout.
What to check: Use payment links for a simple offer; choose an ecommerce platform for inventory, shipping, tax or multi-product stores.

Portability is possible but awkward

Source-code export is a separate paid purchase handled through support, applies only to published files, cannot be imported back, and loses Mixo’s AI integration when self-hosted.
What to check: Treat Mixo as a hosted platform and confirm the export price and contents before committing important long-term content.

API, SSO and advanced security controls are not confirmed

Current public documentation does not establish a public API, SSO availability or detailed enterprise compliance controls.
What to check: Ask Mixo directly before adopting it for regulated, enterprise or deeply integrated workflows.

AI-training policy is not stated clearly

The privacy policy describes cloud processing and third-party service providers but does not say whether customer prompts or content are used to train AI models.
What to check: Avoid uploading confidential material until Mixo confirms its current AI data-use policy in writing.

Some public pricing documentation conflicts

The live pricing page uses Free, Business Site and Premium Site, while an older translated help article still lists a previous three-paid-plan structure.
What to check: Use the live pricing page and confirm checkout totals before purchasing.

Frequently asked questions

Can Mixo be used for free?

Yes. The free plan lets you generate, edit and publish a one-page website on a Mixo subdomain with hosting, SSL and Mixo branding. A payment card is not required to start.

Can I connect my own domain to Mixo?

Yes, but custom domains require a paid plan. Business and Premium currently include one standard domain for the first year; renewal and premium-domain costs are separate.

Can I export or self-host a Mixo website?

Yes, Mixo offers a separately purchased source-code download through support. Only published files can be supplied, the site cannot be imported back into Mixo, and a self-hosted copy does not retain Mixo’s AI integration.

Does Mixo include ecommerce and payments?

It can link buttons to external services such as Stripe Payment Links, PayPal.me, Stripe subscriptions or Gumroad. It is not presented as a native catalogue, basket and checkout platform.

Can Mixo create a blog?

Yes. Mixo supports Blog, Past Projects, Guides and Portfolio content sections, with AI-assisted article generation and editing. The number of sections and bulk-generation allowance depend on the plan.

Does Mixo support Google Analytics and tracking scripts?

Yes. Paid plans can add Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager IDs, and Mixo documents Meta Pixel and custom-script use for supported plans.

Is Mixo suitable for agencies or enterprise teams?

Mixo says agency and volume plans are available by contacting support, but its public material does not provide detailed API, SSO, compliance or service-level information. Those requirements should be confirmed directly.
